Prayer Requests for Travel

As we are gearing up to leave, many things have been on our hearts and minds as we contemplate going to Africa. I'm going to list the prayer requests below, in no particular order of importance :)

1. That all of our documents will be at the Embassy for our appointment at 2pm on July 1st.

2. For our health while we are away. Because we've immunized against EVERY possible thing that we can, basically our biggest risk at this point is food borne illness. Think drinking the water in Cozumel, but 10 times worse and that is what we're talking about. Ick!

3. For us to be aware of every opportunity that the Lord sets before us. We don't want to miss out on a single thing that He wants to show us or teach us.

4. For our transition with Joshua and Josiah to go well. There is always the potential risk of attachment issues. We've prayed against these issues, but know that it is a possibility that we have to be aware of. We just ask that you would pray and ask the Lord to bind our hearts together. Please specifically pray for Jessica and Christopher's transition with their new brothers. As exciting as this is, this is still a HUGE change for them.

5. For our meeting with the twins' Ethiopian family to go well. For the Lord to grant them peace over the decision that they've made and that our meeting will be a blessing to them.

5. For no lost luggage!!

That's all for now - thanks for being faithful to pray for us :)

-Heather

Hi Heather,

Mom and I have been checking the flight status since you left Austin and we now see you all have arrived in Addis Ababa and are so thankful for the safe flight. I know you all must be exhausted but will all be so worth it when you hold your new babies in your arms tomorrow. I love you all so much and am not there physically, but am with you spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. What an awesome journey you are on and my prayers are with you, Matthew and my beautiful niece and nephews! I love you all and cannot wait to see you all again and meet Joshua and Josiah! Love you, love you, love you and may God be with you and may you see His grace and His fingerprint in everything your eyes see and in everything your ears hear. Your lil sis, Laurie :)

We are keeping you in our hearts and prayers, especially these next few days. We are so excited for all of you. Enjoy these days of new beginnings and know that the Lord, Who has been so faithful, will continue to meet all your needs. Rest in the knowledge that you're in His loving hands and that nothing is too difficult for Him. We are eagerly looking forward to Aug. 2, when we, too, will get to hold our new grandbabies.
Hug them all for us-Jessica, Christopher, Joshua, and Josiah and take care of the two of you.
'Til then, we love you so much.
G'dad and G'mother Johnson

Thinking of you and hope you are all doing well! Congratulations on your new baby boys, Joshua and Josiah! Give them hugs and kisses and nibble on their cute little ears for their Aunt Laurie. :)

Love you all,
Laurie

Hi Heather, I'm so grateful to see that y'all made it safely to Ethiopia. Y'all have been in my prayers & thoughts constantly! I can hardly wait until all six of you come home. It will be 6:00am here tomorrow when your Embassy appointment takes place @ 2:00pm. I can only imagine what your journey has been like so far & I pray that it gets better each day! I hope that someday you & Laurie can write a book together, about adoption & God's love. Please give Matthew, my two oldest "babies" and Joshua & Josiah my love!

I love you,
Mom
