Welcome to our journey to adoption and beyond!
We ask that you join us in our journey to adopt Josiah Abenezer and Joshua Emanuel from Ethiopia. Thank you for choosing to embark with us as we take a leap of faith. Our prayer is that by reading this blog and following our journey, that others too, will be inspired to open their homes to the millions of children in need of loving homes throughout the world.
Adoption is very close to our Heavenly Father's heart. He speaks of it over and over again in the Bible. In adoption, we learn much about Him. He himself is an adoptive Father, redeeming his children from desperate circumstances. In James 1:27, the Lord commands His children to care for orphans.
Our God is amazing and glorious. He created the world and all that lives in it. He counts the hairs on every person's head and knows every pain that we feel. However, God is involved in each and every detail of a person's life. God could care for orphans by himself. But, He invites us to participate in his work of mercy. "When we love fatherless children, we are doing the work of God-not only the work that he commands us to do, but the work that He, majestic Creator of the universe, promises to do himself.
Through adoption, we are drawn into awe and love for God. We glimpse reflections of who he is and what he has done, and we marvel and rejoice."
